I have the same problem during summer, and got tons of freckles on my face from the sun. i guess the only way is to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.
atm i'm using the cancer council's ultra protective sunscreen, it'll protect you from harsh UV rays and i think it's not as greasy. :)
